1st World Meditation Day at the United Nations

This historic event brought together individuals and organizations from around the globe to explore how meditation, mindfulness, and cultural wisdom can contribute to global peace and understanding.
As a representative of Africa’s rich traditions, NOA highlighted the continent’s unique meditative practices rooted in oral traditions, rhythmic storytelling, and community harmony. Our delegation participated in panel discussions on the intersection of mindfulness and cultural preservation, offering insights into how traditional African practices foster inner peace and collective resilience.

In July 2024, Narratives of Africa (NOA) joined global leaders, educators, and innovators at the HESI Global Forum 2024, hosted at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This forum, dedicated to exploring the role of higher education in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), provided a platform for organizations like NOA to share their vision and initiatives.
As a champion for African cultural preservation and education, NOA contributed to discussions on integrating indigenous knowledge systems and storytelling into higher education frameworks to foster sustainability and inclusivity.
